Press release of the Business Forum of Tajikistan, Belarus and Afghanistan

On April 6, 2021, the Business Forum of Tajikistan, Belarus and Afghanistan has been organized by the State Committee on investment and state property management of the Republic of Tajikistan as part of the 14th session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Belarus in Dushanbe.
The forum is promoting the integration of countries and was attended by over 200 people from Tajikistan, Belarus and Afghanistan, including heads of governmental agencies, state enterprises and organizations, entrepreneurs and investors.
During this process, participants received information about the business and investment climate, investment opportunities in tourism, industry, agriculture, food, pharmaceutical and other areas, and also expressed interest in establishing and expanding partnerships with their Tajik counterparts.
Friendly relations and partnership between Tajikistan, Belarus and Afghanistan have a long history, and now there is a common position on many issues, which lays as the foundation for expanding and developing cooperation between the business circles of the countries.
During the forum, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the State Unitary Enterprise "Tajinvest" under State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan and State Institution "National Agency for Investment and Privatization" of the Republic of Belarus.
At the end of the official part of the Forum, a bilateral meeting of entrepreneurs of three countries in the format of "Business to Business" (B2B) was held, following signing cooperation documents.
The total amount of signed agreements’ sum up 11.3 million US dollars, 46% share of which comprise exports from the Republic of Tajikistan.
Participants of the business forum from Tajikistan, Belarus and Afghanistan highly appreciated the development of three-tiered relations, which will be strengthened through the signing of cooperation agreements.
